10 Purposes of Organic CBD Oil for Dogs

Guest post courtesy of Jessica Jones. The views and opinions expressed in this article are those of the guest author and do not necessarily represent the views of Val Heart & Heart Communications Enterprises Inc.

CBD Oil has shown a lot of potential in the medical and pharmaceutical industries for both people and animals.

Extracted from the cannabis plant, CBD is one of the organic compounds that possess multiple advantages to increase and improve health care regimes. Many people use CBD oil for its relaxing and soothing properties. But can you use CBD oil for dogs, too?

Both humans and dogs have an endocannabinoid system that regulates the body and keeps it in a state of balance. This system controls and affects our brain, eyes, heart, and mood. Our bodies produce cannabinoids, and these react with cannabidiol from cannabis to create various effects on the body.

CBD has a tranquilizing and soothing effect on the body. It alleviates pain and regulates the system by reducing stress, aiding digestion, and serving multiple other issues.

The logic is predominantly similar in dogs as organic CBD oil reacts with the endocannabinoid system of dogs and produces effects to help dogs deal with anxiety, pain, stress, and much more.  Learn more here!

Purposes of CBD for Dogs

1. Seizures and Epilepsy

Akin to humans, dogs are also prone to seizures and epilepsy. CBD works as an Antiepileptic drug to counter outbreaks in dogs. Unfortunately, common Antiepileptic drugs cause harmful effects to the kidneys and other vital organs. While the dosage needs to be accurate, clinical trials show how these seizures can be reduced and prevented with the help of CBD oil. This therapy is most effective when the CBD content in the blood reaches high levels. Multiple variants of seizures in dogs from various substances and environmental occurrences are preventable using CBD Oil.

2. Pain and Inflammation

One of the most common benefits of CBD is its ability to reduce pain and inflammation. Dogs are also prone to body pain and inflammatory conditions such as back pain and arthritis. Organic CBD oil helps to reduce these conditions by blocking the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and increasing the production of anti-inflammatory effects. Organic CBD oil reduces swellings, nerve pain, and bone cancer pain. CBD oil has shown no side effects on mobility while reducing arthritic pain in dogs.

3. Heart Health

CBD Oil is known to increase general well-being in dogs. It supports the heart by regulating blood flow and maintaining a balanced system. In situations of stress or anxiety, CBD oil reduces blood flow and heart rate to bring the body back to a state of balance. Dogs who have suffered strokes can also benefit from CBD oil as it improves blood flow to the brain.

4. Joint Problemscbd oil for dogs 3

Generally, prescribed medications for joint aches and other problems in dogs cause side effects. They deteriorate soft tissues and damage the liver. CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory product that does not carry this risk. It binds itself to receptors in the brain that stimulate the immune system to reduce pain and inflammation. CBD oil also helps the body produce more cannabinoids naturally. That reduces the chances of future inflammation problems such as sprains, strains, ligament tears, and the probability of pain.

5. Cancer Issues

CBD, in general, has improved health and reduced the probability of cancer cells multiplying in the body. Unfortunately, many dogs face cancer at later points in their lives—dogs undergoing treatment face many health challenges. CBD reduces the growth of tumors in the body. It also increases the sensitivity of cancer cells which allows other treatments to have more effect. CBD oil can help kill cancer cells by blocking their production while also reducing cancer-related pain.

6. Anxiety

Anxiety can manifest itself in various ways in dogs, such as fear, aggression, separation, etc. CBD has a natural ability to reduce anxiety and relax the body. CBD has been effective with anxiety concerns by regulating serotonin levels in humans and dogs.

7. Safety Concerns

CBD is safe for dogs. Organic CBD does not tamper with the psychological structure of dogs and does not produce any psychoactive effects. CBD is free from THC and only acts on the body to regulate its functions. CBD does not harm dogs in any way. The only visible effect CBD can have is increased sleep patterns.

8. Allergies

Dogs are also prone to skin allergies and conditions. CBD helps promote the growth of new skin cells and helps prevent dry and itchy skin. It is advantageous because the endocannabinoid system affects the skin, and CBD helps keep the skin moist and healthy. CBD can be used both internally or externally on dogs to tackle skin conditions.

9. Pain

The most common use of CBD is pain relief. CBD is a natural product that alleviates all types of pain from joint aches, general body pain, muscular fatigue, and soreness. CBD binds itself to receptors in the brain and changes how a dog’s system reacts to pain. This change also helps to deal with nausea and sleepiness.

10. Activity

By relaxing the body and decreasing stress, anxiety, and aggression, CBD improves health and keeps dogs active. It acts as a mood booster by regulating bodily functions and promoting a healthy system. A healthier dog is always a happier dog. CBD helps keep dogs active by maintaining a state of balance and controlling situations of stress or pain.

Conclusion

Evidence clearly shows how beneficial CBD is for dogs. Numerous dog owners prefer using CBD oil over other medical treatments due to its organic and natural tendency to relieve ailments.

It keeps the body healthy while preventing conditions that dogs are generally prone to experiencing. It is necessary to consult a vet to understand your dog’s needs and requirements before giving them CBD oil as different dogs have different conditions. It’s critical to administer the correct type of oil with the required dosage so that the effects are long-lasting and visible. CBD has proved to be a natural alternative to keeping dogs healthy and happy.
