Heart Wisdom Animal Talk Blog
Dedicated to improved health, behavior and wellness for pets and the people who love them.
Animals are angels, teachers, guides and healers. When we learn how to talk to animals, we discover how to recognize, respect and revere them for who they really are. The profound process is a spiritual journey because learning how to talk to animals helps humans become better people. It’s an extraordinary, life changing experience because animals have a lot to say. For instance, consider this incredibly true story of how I talked to a komodo dragon, and how that changed my life. Every month, my Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club students (graduates of the How to Talk to Animals Beginning Core Foundations course as well as Advanced Animal Talk Mastery course), gathers to practice talking with animals so they can improve their intuitive skills and confidence. That sunny day in June, we went on a fieldtrip to the San Antonio Zoo. The students’ assignment was to wander through the […]

Does your dog lunge, bark, growl, or strain at the leash when you’re out for a walk? Embarrassing, isn’t it? Dangerous even. A walk with your four-legged companion should be fun. Your outdoor adventures should be a time for bonding and exercise, for both of you. But if your dog is “leash reactive” those daily walks can be a nightmare. It’s very important to know that your dog’s bad manners on leash don’t mean you have a bad dog… In a perfect world, you’d start your new puppy on a consistent training regime using a qualified trainer, and stick with that routine. You would socialize them properly so they know how to handle all situations appropriately and are well […]
Read MoreDiscover the soul contracts between you and your pets Every animal comes into your life for a reason. Once you identify that reason you’ll discover a more meaningful life filled with joy, determination and a renewed sense of purpose… you’ll even forge new ‘soul contracts’ with the animals you encounter. But how do you find that reason… and how do you proceed once you’ve found it? Let’s talk through the elements of soul contracts. Together we’ll reveal the purpose and roles of these relationships… What are soul contracts? Let’s frame a soul contract using a very human scenario. Imagine an office setting – a collection of two or more people who work for the same company. Every day they gather together, but no one has told them their specific job descriptions or the desired outcome of a day’s work. Muddled and aimless, they spend their days wandering around, hanging out […]
Read More“Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!’” ~ Robin Williams Many years ago, I was on staff for Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation. Our job was to take in injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife and help them recover or relocate. It was as fascinating and heartbreakingly difficult as it was rewarding and fulfilling. I loved all the critters… (well, maybe not the crocodile so much… he wasn’t very friendly). But the raccoons, foxes, possums, leopards, bears, monkeys, lemurs, snakes, owls, macaws and parrots, bobcats, birds, bats… you name it! Working in wildlife rescue, we just never knew what kind of animal would need our help next. It was scary at times but never dull, that’s for sure. For instance, Scarlet, the enormous macaw, almost took off my thumb with one swift bite through a heavy leather glove! (We got to be good friends later…) And I single handedly saved 17 […]

Throughout her life she has owned a wide variety of pets and loves all animals. She cared for rabbits, parakeets, kittens, dogs, and hamsters as a young child. As an adult, she expanded her love of critters to include Australian animals as well. At the age of 13, when her family moved to Maryland, she and her sister were given horses. Jennifer learned to communicate with these large animals and a mutual trust developed between her and her new friends. She traveled to horse shows, rode on trails, and took her horse swimming in lakes and creeks. This experience helped tremendously when Jennifer took a job with the U.S. Forest Service as a surveyor near Jackson Hole, WY. Her mode of transportation to and from the job site was […]
