5 Essential Reasons Why People Adore Having Goldendoodles

Having a great dog is something that all canine lovers enjoy.

We just wouldn’t feel complete without them in our lives.

Whether you have them as a companion, to play sports with, to protect your home, or even to simply play with, there are plenty of reasons having a dog is a great choice.

And with the fact that almost 70 million American households own a dog, there is no doubting how much we love them.

While there are plenty of breeds (both purebred and mixed), one of the most popular is the Goldendoodle.

This blog post is going to explain why this poodle and golden retriever mix is so beloved and the reasons people adore them so much.

Goldendoodles Are Friendly and Gentle

The temperament of a Goldendoodle is one of the main reasons that they are so popular.

They are a very friendly dog breed and will be happy to meet other people and dogs.

They are very happy and silly and are generally a joy to have around.

In addition to being friendly and lovable, these dogs are also very gentle.

Some can be protective, but they are certainly not a dog breed you need to worry about being aggressive in most cases.

They are Incredibly Cute

Another reason that Goldendoodles are so popular is because of how cute they are.

As a puppy, these dogs look like little teddy bears and often look more like a stuffed animal than a real animal.

Even when they get out of the puppy stage, they still look incredibly cute and cuddly.

While all dogs are cute, many owners will say there is something special and different about Goldendoodles.

They Shed Much Less Than Other Dogs

While no dog is truly hypoallergenic and never sheds, Goldendoodles are about as close as you can get.

This comes from their poodle side, as most poodles don’t shed very much at all.

This is because poodles have hair instead of fur, so it doesn’t fall out and instead, will grow consistently.

While a lack of shedding is great for a clean house, it also means you need to groom these dogs fairly often to keep them comfortable and stop their hair from getting too long.

Smart Dog Indeed! They are Highly Intelligent.

The intelligence that Goldendoodles have is another reason why so many people love having them as pets.

Both poodles and golden retrievers often appear on lists dedicated to the smartest dog breeds, so this dog has intelligence from both sides.

You can teach them things many other dogs will struggle with, and with how they act sometimes almost seems human-like in their responses to things and how they behave.

Of course, intelligent dogs can get bored easily, so ensure you are giving your Goldendoodle a lot of mental and physical exercise to keep them entertained and challenged.

They are Easy to Train

Training a dog is one of the biggest duties of any good owner.

They need to know where they are allowed to go to the bathroom, the things they are allowed to do, and need to be well-behaved.

While some dogs can be nightmares to train, that isn’t the case with Goldendoodles.

Because they are eager to please their owners, most Goldendoodles can be trained incredibly easily. It is easy to train them away from bad habits, and it doesn’t require a lot of work or effort to train them, either.

We hope this article has helped you learn a little more about Goldendoodles and why they are such a popular mixed breed.
